1988 pontiac grand am v belt

i have a 1988 pontiac grand am 2.5 with about 189,000 miles on her. im having troubles with puting the v belt on. for starters i have the wheel and plastic from the wheel well pulled off. i cant figure out how to take the outside belt off to put the new one on. any ideas?

Either on an idler pulley or an engine driven accessory will be either a threaded rod or a slot that when the accessory is slightly loosened will allow the tension to be changed. Just have to look to find it. Wish I could give more specific info but its been a few years since I saw a car of that vintage pass through the shop.
