I have a 1993 Honda Civic with 193,000 miles on it. I'm having trouble getting it to start when it's cold. It has brand new spark plugs, a new air intake, and I have checked the starter and it is working fine. Does anyone have any help?

It cranks but won't turn over. If I crank it long enough eventually it starts. But I'm talking like cranking it for about 15-20 minutes straight. Not letting off.

Bet the fuel pressure is on the low side - especially when cranking as available voltage is lower. Try waiting with the key in just "run position" for a few seconds and then start and see if that helps - it would be telling. If this is a problem only when engine is cold - like overnite then it probably isn't getting the signal to "enrich" fuel for cold starts. Let us know - you've got some miles on this pup but I know they can do more! T Ps: 20 real seconds is a lot on a starter! Let it cool down for a few minutes if it doesn't start or you'll need a starter and still have the problem!

Tried leaving the key in the run position for a little bit and then cranked it. It started to run then died again and wont do anything but crank.

Sure sounds like a fuel pressure issue. Check that and if it's been a while toss the fuel filter, perhaps try some injector cleaner but it sounds like you'll need a fuel pump, T

Would that still be true if it only happens when it's cold? The car starts fine when the weather outside is warm. It's only when the weather is under about 50 Degrees.

Car plain like it better when warmer out but with this only showing up below 50F it probably is the cold enrichment system - don't know whether it's a separate injector or the regular one just told to richen fuel when cold as would be info sent from the engine temp sensor - that allows injected cars to behave like carbed ones did with a choke. May show something with a code reading but I doubt it if light isn't on. I would still rule out low fuel pressure as that would be fussier when cold anyway, T
