1994 BUICK REGAL BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ON Sign In

HELLO, I HAVE A 1994 BUICK REGAL 3.1L WITH ABOUT 175000 MILES ON IT.
THE OTHER DAY MY DRIVE BELT CAME OFF AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PULLEY
ON THE BELT TENSIONER HAD MELTED SOMEWHAT AND POPPED THE BELT OFF.
THE CAR RAN UNTIL IT RAN OUT OF BATTERY POWER AND THEN DIED. I WAS
NOT DRIVING IT AT THE TIME. IT WAS JUST WARMING UP IN MY DRIVEWAY.
SO, I PUT A NEW TENSIONER ON AND A NEW BELT AND RECHARGED BATTERY
AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE BUT WHEN I STARTED THE CAR MY RED BRAKE
WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS STAYED ON. I CHECKED ALL FUSES AND
THEY ARE GOOD. I CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS OK BUT I STILL
ADDED A LITTLE MORE TO BRING IT ALMOST TO THE VERY TOP OF THE RESERVOIR.
I PUSHED DOWN ON MY E BRAKE A FEW TIMES AND LET IT POP BACK UP AND EVEN
TRIED PULLING UP ON IT BUT THE LIGHT STAYS ON. I UNPLUGGED THE SENSOR
FROM THE RESERVOIR BUT THE LIGHT DIDNT GO OFF. I UNHOOKED BOTH BATTERY
CABLES AND HOOKED BACK UP AND STILL LIGHT IS ON. I EVEN TAPPED ON RESERVOIR
WITH SCREW DRIVER. NO HELP. ALSO, ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY AMBER ABS LIGHT CAME ON
AND HAS BEEN ON SINCE. THIS HAPPENED LAST WINTER AND MECHANIC TOLD ME HE THOUGHT
IT WAS A BARE WIRE ON ONE OF THE SENSORS GOT WET. IT DID GO OFF AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS
AT THAT TIME. I SUSPECT THAT THE SENSOR GOT WET AGAIN AND SINCE ITS BEEN SO COLD HERE
IT HASNT HAD A CHANCE TO DRY OUT. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Look on the left side of your keyboard. You will see a button labeled CAPS LOCK. Press it before you post again.

The brake light could be part of the ABS problem so you have to tackle that first. Have the ABS codes read and post the code number here.
