1994 Pontiac Bonneville SE 3.8L V6 180k miles

A few months ago my car started cutting off when I drove it. My Dad and I realized it was losing pressure. I first replaced the fuel filter, then replaced the fuel pump with no luck. I checked the relay and it seems to be fine. I don't seem to have a MAP sensor on my car, which was something I was going to check. It will run for about 10-15 minutes before cutting off. No hiccups. I check the valve for fuel pressure after it cuts off, and it spits nothing out. It has to sit for a little bit until I can start it up again. When it runs, it runs like a champ. I've read online it COULD be the fuel pressure regulator. I disconnected the vacuum hose for this and ran it. Same thing. How would I even going about checking it properly?

Does anyone know what this could be? I will take it to a mechanic if I cannot figure out the problem myself. My uncle is here for a couple more days and is pretty good at working on cars. I'm not too bad myself. Any help would be GREAT. Like I said, it has a brand new fuel filter AND fuel pump!

Hmmm. It cuts off after running fine? Sure, it should have fuel pressure and wouldn't run with none.

If regulator can fail and just return fuel that would do it.

Is there a return hose to pinch (AYOR) and watch you may break something (this is old enough and enough miles) so fuel has to stay for injectors?

IDK, I think if this car is basically OK + while you have some help I'd toss the regulator and I hate just parts tossing as a method of repair at the age/miles if that's not too costly just do it.

These things have rubber parts, plastics too that just don't age well is a side note but seems to be EVERYTHING THAT'S giving me fits lately also pull this work properly then quit crap sure doesn't help for a credible diagnosis :-(

T
PS: Some other things for zero fuel pressure are the plugs in wiring right to it. Grease those + hope you took a good look when doing fuel pump?

Fuel pressure is not the only thing you should be checking.

You should also be testing for spark and injector pulse when this happens. There are certain components that control those things and if you lose those, then you automatically lose the fuel pump also.
Use a noid light to test for injector pulse and power supply.
