1994 Town Car - Questions on Motor Mount Job Sign In

1994 Lincoln Town Car
4.6L V8
113,000

I'm changing both my motor mounts right now and I've got a pretty simple question for you. How high can I jack up the engine while I'm doing this work without damaging something? I ask because I'm having trouble shimmying the driver's side mount out of there and I'm a little anxious about raising this mother up higher than I've had it. The mount is in such an awkward place, I think I might drain the oil just to give my self more room and options to work with without the filter in the way. Are both of these mounts meant to slide out the back or the front of their respective spots?

Sport? Why does this need BOTH? It's not common without abuse or oil wrecked mounts? The layout of this isn't F to rear forces rather just lift on one and push on other accelerating.

Seriously - I've had to do exactly ZERO of those on this or older ones back to ages older + prior to 4.6 engines. What happened?
Edit > I take that back assorted ones the trans support bar at the frames would lose it to rust (mounts) or tips of the bar! That showed itself by engine tilting backwards + belt driven fans could hit shrouds!
