hello, I have had our cirrus about 8 months now. Just recently it started acting up and wondered if anyone has heard of this? The tack, speedometer, fuel gauge and even shifting is very inconsistant. The guages will go on and off, bounce about and sometimes do nothing. The car won't shift into high freeway gears either. But after you have drove the car for about 40 minutes to an hour at times everything will start to work again to include shifting and all apparently normal. Does the cars computer control all of this? does this mean I need a new computer? where can one be located and where is it located in the car? Dave

I wouldn’t be running around and changing computers yet; it’s likely a connection problem; possibly one of the many grounds. Because this vehicles instrument cluster, transmission, engine and most other things either receive or generate commands by and for the different computers; I’m going to suggest taking this car in and have someone diagnose the problem for you. There are just to many different scenarios that can cause this that we’d just be guessing. Dan. Canadian "EH"
