I need help. the compressor motor keeps turning on to pump the Air ride in my 1995 Lincoln Town Car. It even comes on when it is turned off and parked.
What parts do I need? The message came up one time to " Check the Air Suspension ".
Thank you for any information.

For the time being, check the rear air bags used in these where coil springs would be. If cracked and not showing inflation they could be flat - car would be VERY low in back. The pump can be disabled by a switch in the trunk for now also.

If this is a slow leak anywhere from pump (underhood behind and down under driver's side headlight) along to the air bag springs it might be slow but steady and need constant pumping to keep them at hieght. Look and test for leaks, and there should be a sensor on rear differential parts to body parts which detects the height of the rear that could be broken sending signal to alter the height constantly.

You need to get on this as when the air spring/bags don't stay inflated the rear will be so low the car is almost undriveable!

If those bags haven't been replaced yet they are overdo as most don't last that long from new,

T

To Tom Greenleaf,
Thank you very much for the information on the Air Suspension. I will now know how to proceed in repairing the problem. The Lincoln Dealer said they could repair it at the cost of $2,000.00. You helped me save a bundle! Thanks again.
