1996 saturn starter problem

Ihave a 1996 saturn I have replaced the Batt. alternator and starter when I turn the key to start it I can hear the starter clicking but the car will not turn over. When I take the wire for the alternator off the starter terminal,the car will start. did I get a bad Alternator?

Are you sure you have the starter and alternator wired correctly. Sounds like it may not be.
