1997 Dodge Dakota 3.9 Liter V6 Manual Transmission ~50K Miles The past week or two my truck has been running kind of rough, and it even stalled a couple of times when I was manuvering in parking lots. It's gotten kind of cold (into the 40s in the morning) here in Northern California, and that seemed to trigger the roughness, but the stalling occured when the truck was warmed up. I had the plugs and wires changed at ~40K miles. There is no check engine light signal yet. I'm wondering if the problem could be a sensor that I may be able to change myself.

I wish I were able to tell you it’s this, just do that but it isn’t that simple. There are so many different things that could cause this rough running and intermittent stall, that it would be pointless to start listing all of them. I’m going to suggest taking the truck in & have it diagnosed; let us know what their findings were? Looking through the TSB’s (technical service bulletin) that I have, there are a few reflashes (new programming) available for this truck’s computer. There wasn’t one that directly mentions your derivability issue but you never know that after the reflash, it just may fix this as well as the item(s) the programming were designed to repair. Now don’t run in and tell whoever too reprogram the computer but I would suggest it to them after all the basic tests were completed and nothing else were found. Dan. Canadian "EH"
