I've got a 1997 Infiniti i30 V6 with ~188k miles. lately it's been starting rough when it's cold. I have to give it gas a rev for a few seconds, or else it stalls out. Once it is running/warmed up, it's great. Idles really smooth, everything else. I replaced the spark plugs (with recommended plugs), and the symptoms didn't change one bit. The air filter looks great, and the check engine light is NOT on. What do you think it might be? I'm tempted to run some sort of injector/fuel system cleaner through it, but don't have high hopes.

What plugs were recommended and by whom? Is the check engine light ever coming on? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Plugs recommended were platinum. Owner's manual and parts store both said platinum, so that's where my $60 went. a few months ago the check engine light came on for a day...code reader said "knock sensor" - but then it went off, didn't clear codes w/reader, it just went off. This problem started quite a bit after that though.

Not style, brand is what I was asking for on the plugs. How many miles on the rest of the ignition components like coils and wires, dist cap if it has one? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Spark plugs are NGK Laser Platinum premium. as far as i know the rest of the ignition components are original ~188,000 (coil packs, no traditional plug wires, no dist cap.

OK, NGK is good for that car. You could have some weak coil packs but you're going to need someone to be able to isolate which cylinders.
