i have a 1997 ford ka, which i have recently had a new engine put in as one of the cylinders in the old one had broke. this has not solved my problem of loss of power. it struggles up hills, and getting up to speed, i also cannot get over 60mph. any ideas of what might be wrong would be great thanks charlotte x

Due to the other engine failure you likely have a clogged up Catalytic Converter now. You can check vacuum readings or exhaust pressure to check that. The easiest way might be to just disconnect it at the manifold and drive it with open exhaust to see if the problem is gone.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
