Year: 1998 Make: Chevy Model: Geo Prizm Mileage: 150,000 ish When I turn the key to start my car, I hear one "click" and then nothing happens. Before I was able to try it 3 or 4 times and it would eventually start, but now it just won't start no matter how many times I try. That's really all I can say about my problem. I know it's not the battery, because there would be several "clicks" in a row, but there is only one "click". There were really no signs and symptoms that led up to this. It was like one day I turned the key to start my car and "click" -didn't start. Thanks in advance for all your help!!

Don't be so quick to rule out the battery. It may not be the problem but you can't assume that. You need to test for power arriving at the small purple wire of the starter when the key is in start position. If power is arriving at that wire and you have a fully charged and good battery, that would indicate a bad starter or seized engine. You can check for a seized engine by turning it manually. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
