Hiya. I am currently driving a 1998 1.2 renault clio, with no power steering. On thursday i drove through a puddle, not neccessarily deep, in second (under 20mph!) and as i turned into the road my car starting skidding across the road. Ever since i have notice a major difference in my steering, as it feels very light - as if there is power steering. However, when i turn sharp bends the steering feels heavy, and normal again. If you release the steering wheel whislst driving the car drifts to the left. Dont know if you have any ideas on what it could be?

sozyls; Sounds like you've bent some steering gear. (Being a French vehicle, we know that they aren't known for strength, and wouldn't surprise me that water could bend their metal.) That was tongue in cheek, btw. Sorry, had to take the shot. Seriously, though, you should have the front suspension inspected immediately. If nothing else, severe tire wear will result.
