Hello, I have a 1998 s-10 blazer 4x4 auto w/4.3 & 150k on it. The other day I couldn't get the heater to start blowing. Then moments later it just came on. This has happened 3 or 4 times and now it won't come on any more. The temp guage reads where it always has and the last time the blower worked it sounded fine and all the controls worked properly. Heat can be felt at the vents, just no blower. Thanks, it's cold here!

Was tricky as there's auto air and manual but should be about the same for this. This pick is underhood - passenger's side firewall. Never mind for now the person's hand but note that is the blower motor. It when you have the request on full blast (hi blower) it isn't working go out that whack at that motor housing with a plastic hammer - easy now - a light whack. If it snaps right to and runs the blower is likely the problem and if nothing happens test for current there, connections and if still ok try the whack attack again. At that point if power is there, no blower working - make sure housing is grounded (add ground if needed) then call it the blower motor is junk and toss it. It's cold to work right now as you know. If just like that one it's not all that bad a job but if the "tap/whack" trick works it may get you thru till better weather for replacement. Stay warm! T
