The battery on my 98 jeep went dead last week, 98k miles, I replaced the battery today and now the car starts and will only stay running for 5 or 6 seconds...any suggestions?

Check for voltage at battery. Not all new ones are good and watch the voltage while cranking and even for the short time it runs. There are bad new batteries and all replacements should be charged before installation with a memory saver, T

A lot of times on Chrysler Jeep, when you disconnect the battery the computer loses its memory and has to relearn idle speed motor settings. This should clear up on its own in a few days. It is frustrating, but the computer needs a little time to relearn idle settings.
