2000 Chevy Blazer back hatch wont open

For some ungodly reason, the back hatch of a 2000 Chevy Blazer will not open. When the button is pushed you can hear a solenoid relay but the door will not unlatch. Could use a lil' bit of info about this if possible.

I take it there's no outside key to try - right?
OK: Try having a helper PUSH on the door/gate while hitting the unlatch button - if that works lube the heck out of everything you can find.
Only onther way I know is to climb back there and remove the panel for access to what's wrong - could be just a clip broken or who knows. It ain't easy to get a panel off a closed door and some damage may happen in the attempt.
If it gives you a real hard time I suggest allowing a body repair shop just fix this as I bet most good body techs could minimize damage to get a panel off!
