Hello. I recently had the van (98k miles) in the shop for alignment. It was pulling to the right. They said the pull was due to the rear tires being cupped due to needing struts. They said it would cost approx $1200 to replace all 4. my questions are: 1- do i want to replace all struts or just the rear ones that they said were affecting the tires. 2- if i were to try to save costs, could i just do the bellows or just the mount or would it be best to replace the whole assembly? 3- is it a do it yourself job for an "intermediate novice"? thanks

You may want to shop around for a better price. The strut cartridge is worn out, just replacing the bellows won't do anything. It is not a DIY job because you need a strut spring compressor. With the high mileage I would also recommend replacing the upper strut mounts as well. By the way, you will need another alignment after the struts are done due to the camber adjustment will be disturbed. Steve
