2000 Maxima acceleration issue Sign In

Is it necessary to reset the ECU following replacement of my ignition coils and plugs? I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE that was showing all the signs of bad coils. Prior to replacing the coils I had the tranny checked (was fine) and replaced the fuel filter. I just changed the coils/plugs and the car still runs bad, but I saw some notes that say you should clear out the ECU. I will try that first, but then I'm not sure what else to do? Start again at the Idle Air Control and MAF? The car will not respond to pressing hard on accelerator, I need to gradually increase speeds. At around 60 on the highway it acts like its downshifting when I press on accelerator. I've been dealing with it for at least a year now. Any help would be appreciated.
