My 2000 VW Passat wagon 4 cyl turbo with 113,000 mles, when my gas tank was low and needed an oil change would have a rough idle when stopped and have blinker on (either 1) now it does it all the time when stopped and in gear. When I bring the car to mechanic they can not find problem or duplicate it, any suggestions?

Guess: Battery power is low and or alternator output causing borderline fuel pressure and with brake lights on or directionals drops voltage a bit more AND low fuel may cause fuel pump to run warmer and less effective. That's about the only common denominators I can think of??

+1 on alternator.

if you have your headlights on do you notices them "pulse" slightly with the engine idle? sometimes your dash will be more noticable pulsing due to them not being blinding like headlights
