NO - if like the older ones. You probably have to take the gas tank out and a hammer and old (or new) screwdriver will remove the retaining ring. Use all caution NOT to make a spark by keeping constant contact while loosening and tightening that ring. FYI - an almost empty gas tank is far more dangerous than a full one but if it's full you can't really remove it. If in doubt or scared by this get some pro help and pay the extra cost. Good idea is to keep your gas tank at least 1/3 full as electric fuel pumps are cooled by the gasoline and if you run low all the time you'll have more failures with these fuel pumps.
