hi

I have a 2000 zx3 ford focus that won't stay running . you have to continue to feed the gas . if you let up on gas it will die . but if you let it sit 3 - 4 hours it will start and run

Do you have a check engine lamp illuminated? If so, have any trouble codes retrieved and post them here.
What you describe are classic symptoms of a vacuum leak or sticky IAC (idle air control) motor. When the engine is cold, fuel delivery is increased, which can compensate for a lean condition. After warm up, the IAC will try and compensate. Have you had the fuel filter checked/replaced? Or an injection cleaning done?
If you can always keep it running by pressing on the throttle, that would eliminate an ignition problem; If not, let us know. Could be losing spark, injector pulse, ect.
