I have a 2002 Buick Rendevous with 160000kms on it . It has been very good to me with only minor repairs, however I do have it serviced regularly. Recently I have noticed a metal on metal rubbing noise coming from the front of the vehicle when I pull out onto the roadway under power. The noise appears because there is a small dip in the pavement where I pull out. I almost sounds like the strut was loose at the top. (it is not loose). Could it be the bar that goes across the front end (sway bar?) where it attaches to a rubber mounted post on each side? The post I speak of is about 4" tall with a rubber at the top and the bottom and is attached to the (Sway bar?) and to the lower A arm. Any assistance is appreciated. John

If the sway bar pins you could probably just see one dangling or move it by hand OR see the rubber bushings torn up and give you a clunking or some noise. Most are not that hard or expensive. Some if so may also need the holding rubber for the shaft also. Could be something else completely too so plain needs to be hoisted and check by you or a shop, T

Thank you for your advice. I will check underneath and see if the pins are loose or the rubber looks messed up. If not to the shop we go I guess. John

If you do find one broken, usually at the lower end of the pin do just tie it or something so it can't poke into anything and harm it. Again if that, not hard with the right tools and somewhat common where I am as some roads really stink which does stress them, T

These silly things if that at all. Cheap............. Those are at end of a sway bar. Just a bolt, sleeve to hold washers in place that are a total pain in the butt to get the old broken ones out most of the time. Torches help. The install if - again if just those isn't hard. If again. Rubber makes a good fire if you use torches or better just cut with what you have. Trick going back in with new is lift as needed with a floor jack just so for the last one - do both if they are it al all, T
