2002 Chevrolet Tahoe 4.3L 214k The Tahoe just started making this noise after turning on the ac one day and it hasn't stopped. It has had this problem for months now. The ac works just fine and the noise is there even when the ac is off. I tried replacing the ac filters (they were filthy anyways). Not sure what could be causing this. Here is the sound that it makes: https://vocaroo.com/i/s0bI7f6cyoWi Sounds like a cat to me...

You're right, I've never heard anything like that. Is it coming from inside the truck or under the hood? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It seems to be coming from inside the truck.

It has to be coming from the blower motor then. You can try unplugging the motor while the noise is present to see if that stops the noise.

It sounds like someone ate refried beans or ate too much taco bell. Automatic ac or manual? It could be an air door moving. Try moving the heater and mode controls and see if the noise responds. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
