Hello,

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger and have been having some clutch trouble lately. In the morning it is fine, but as the day goes on, the clutch pedal becomes "sticky" feeling and makes it difficult to engage smoothly. It also starts to make a sound like when you streak your hand across a window.

I took it to my local dealership and they could not find anything wrong with it. I have checked all fluid levels and attempted to lubricate the pedal with grease and oil, but neither of these worked.

If anyone has any suggestions of how I might remedy this problem, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Does this use a cable or hydraulic linkage? If cable I would unhook it from the clutch end and see if it moves freely. If hydraulic bleed it out and see if that helps. If it feels free when testing either type the cable could be bad or a binding master or slave cylinder or problem with any flex hose used in hydraulic types could be a problem - guessing for now,
