hi, i was wondering if some one can help me out. recently replaced both bearings, spark plugs and spark plug wires in addition to having my exhaust fixed and my car is still having problems driving. When i dropped my car off a few weeks ago at the garage it was driving fine just needed some body work done bc i hit a deer. when i picked it up it wouldnt accelerate at all i had the pedal to the floor and it wouldnt go anywhere, then the check engine light came on. As i said i replaced wheel bearings and spark plug because someone said that may be the problem, however its just gotten worse. Now there is a whistling noise when i drive coming from what sounds like the drivers side. the engine light will randomly go on and off and it randomly has problems accelerating or maintaining speed, esp if i am going up a hill. any help would be appreciated, as right now i cant even take the car over 30 mph.

I don't know where the wheel bearings came into the picture but someone needs to check all the ignition components and determine what is causing the miss and which cylinder it is. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

When your engine light is flashing on and off thats your computer telling you that you are having an active misfire that will wreck your cats (very expensive) if not fixed in short order. It doesn't sound like the guy you're dealing with is a driveability tech. You need one now before your repair bill includes expensive cat replacement. A reading of the codes and posting of their exact number will help narrow down what needs to be checked . I'm as mystified as Hammer as to why someone would suggest wheel bearing are causing your misfire. Don't let that person touch this car again unless you hate having money.
