2002 v6 Camaro having problems Sign In

This all started happening a few days ago. Driving down the road and my Automatic v6 2002 Camaro will start slowing down while going up hill. Ex. Going into a hill at 50mph by the time I get to the top I am going 20-25 mph no matter how much gas I give. It has a slow acceleration will take about 15-20 seconds to get up to 30 mph. Once it changes to 4th gear it will just slow down as if it is dying till I go back down to a lower gear. No odd noises no shaking in the car that's all that's wrong with it and I have no idea what it could be. (Was not taught much on cars growing up) please help me and inform me on what this could possibly be.

you could have the cars computer system scanned - free at many parts stores. Yes scan even if lights are off.

There are many possibilities as to performance issues but that is a good place to start - and its FREE.
In all probability you will need a professional to assist with repairs.
Avoid the parts sell pressure at store.

When it shift down to a lower gear, does the engine rev right up as normal or does it still have restricted RPMs?

Check for codes as stated.

Check for exhaust restriction. Screw a back pressure gauge in and check for excessive exhaust back pressure. Ignition system troubles on those can melt the cat and cause it to plug up the exhaust. If it does have a melted cat, be sure to find the cause or your new one won't last.
