Hello, I had the engine check light come on the other day. Went to advanced and had a code test ran. They said it was either the spark plug in cylinder 3, spark plug wires, or coil something... I replace the spark plug and the check engine light went off. I decided to go ahead and replace the rest of the plugs and wires sense I had them so I replaced the spark plugs and attempted to replace the wires. After changing wires 4 and 5 I realized I got the wrong wires from advanced. I put the old wires on and started the car, now I am experiencing bad sputtering and back firing. I verified that the cables are hooked up in the correct spot, made sure the new plugs where not damaged. I'm not sure where to go from here.

Usually backfiring is caused by an ignition timing problem. Was it backfiring and stuttering before you changed the plugs and some of the spark plug wires? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Wow...I thought I had it correct, that definatley fixed the stuttering and backfiring...thank you. My service engine light is back on. I will have a code test ran on it unless you have any ideas. By the way, I contacted 2CARPro's about 2 hrs ago and donated money and still haven't gotten a reply so I thank you again for the help, I will always use and recommend this site.

There's a good chance some of those wires didn't survive the tugging and pulling to get them off too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
