2003 Jeep Wrangler X wont start. Checked the starter, theres fuel and spark. Air intake is good. What we would like to know is how to check if its flooded and how to fix this?

helper; If the engine has sufficient fuel pressure (you'll need a pressure guage to check this) and has a good, hot, spark, it is possible that the engine is flooded. Pull the spark plugs to see if they are wet, with fuel. How was it running prior to this? Was anything done prior to this problem? Which engine? A compression test would help. If all of the above is okay, you can try clear flooding. With a fuel injected engine, when you depress the 'throttle' all of the way to the floor, it is called WOT (wide open throttle). This shuts off the flow of fuel and gives a lot of air to the intake. Don't pump it. Just hold it to the floor. If the engine starts, back off the throttle as the rpm's increase so as not to over-rev the engine... If this works, great. But, we need to determine the cause of the original flooding. Has the check engine light been on? Check the coolant level. Check the oil...if it smells like fuel, you'll need to change it and the filter. Let us know what you find. We can go from there.
