2003 Saturn Ion minor ignition stalls and gas smell	Sign In

So last couple days I've noticed a light gas smell in the garage after I get home from work. I check for gas leaks and no puddles and my gas gauge isn't suddenly dropping to E.

I also notice when I start it up before going to work or going home (when its been sitting several hours) it takes a few seconds to start now, but not if I turn it off and right back on again.
I'm hoping I might just need to clean the fuel injectors or if its something else.

anyone have any advice?

If you're smelling fuel then you have a leak somewhere. You won't see any drips because it only leaks when running an under pressure and evaporates quickly after.

It could be a fusty fuel line somewhere or a leaky fuel injector in the engine. You will have to look for it while the engine is running.

thanks for the reply. I'm planning to take it to the shop and at least have them look at it early tomorrow. Really hoping its something minor like just leak or at least a minor repair and not something that will set me back hundreds like having to replace the fuel injectors
