2006 Chevy Malibu LT - Starting Problems So my malibu has been giving me problems for two months now. It randomly will not start, typically back fires and stalls. I've had it to three different garadges all finding nothing wrong with car, last stop was a GM dealer. I have already installed a new fuel pump and got a new fuel pump relay. One thing that I have found very odd is the fuel pump relay gets very hot after a few minutes of running the car. Almost to hot to hold. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

You can't just keep throwing parts at it. You have to do some testing to isolate exactly what is happening. You need to monitor both the fuel pressure and the current draw of the fuel pump. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
