2006 Ford Focus electrical issues

I have a 2006 ford focus and live in the country. Long story short- after being stranded for a week, I attempted to jump start the vehicle with household electrical wiring, an extension cord, and and outdoor socket. It didn't work! The braker flipped immediately and a "burnt" smell filled the car. Eventually I was able to get a jump start and I drove the car, which I noticed now has random electrical issues... ie ac, interior light, radio, and tail brake lights don't work anymore, but window brake light, and the regular tail lights do. The combinations seemed strange to me but I decided to start replacing fuses anyway. I took the 20 amp out for radio and it was burnt so I replaced it, only it sparked and I assume blew the moment I inserted it into the panel. Is it possible that I had a bad fuse and if so would it do that? I haven't had a chance to go buy more and wanted some feedback before heading to town. I am concerned that I may have fried something important like the computer brain, but isn't that why there are fuses in the first place...to prevent such a thing? Is it possible that I shorted out the positive battery cable and that I need to replace it as well as the fuses?

Oh, I've heard it all now. You put 120 AC volts into a 12V DC system that is full of computers. I'm speechless. ................ OH, and you're screwed! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Yes...yes I did...I wired my car to my house in an attempt to charge the battery based on a "how to jump start a car without another vehicle" tip, that I got off the internet and I'm surely not done paying for that mistake! I can't afford to have the car professionally looked at either so any knowledgeable input is greatly appreciated. I plan to start with the battery cable wiring and work my way through. Is this logical?

You don't have any choice here. You have fried unlimited number of electrical components and probably some real expensive ones. You need professional help here. Don't cry about the price. Your nonsense did this to yourself.

Honestly, I'm not complaining about price. I'd give anything to be able to hand off this problem that I created to a qualified professional and be done with it. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury at the moment. I live on a fixed income, with 2 dependants-gross less than 150 a month. Thank God that it still runs and thank you for all your help and quick responses!

You can start by testing every single fuse with a test light.

Triple Yikes! Unknown territory for me. IDK - If 120V went thru a fuse meant for 12VDC it might not blow the fuse but rather the device down the line. Totally unknown damage to car and hope ''house'' breaker really worked too - a site first I think, T

Thanks for all yalls help! Update- I proceeded to remove every fuse in the interior box. Upon first glance the fuses appeared to be fine 99% of the time, yet components still were inoperable so something led me to 're-check those fuses. Upon closer inspection, I found that all of them had black burnt marks on the top at the very least. Others were visibly warped or melted through providing no connection. I used all the spare fuses that I had to replace what I could and plan to buy more tomorrow...good news...most of em did not spark or blow and that accessory works great now. Several did blow but after researching the location I discovered that multiple fuses operated the same device so I'm assuming that the fact that the other fuses are warped and shorting out actually shorts out and blows the New fuse. I could be wrong but praying I'm not! Plan to replace every fuse in the interior and exterior fuse boxes. So far, I have been u able to remove the " maxi fuses". Do you just pull them super hard or is there a trick? Also, during this extensive process today u noticed that several strands of the coper positive battery cable were visibly a darker "burnt" color. Should I go ahead and replace this? Could this be the source blowing the fuses?

The source blowing fuses was the 120 volts going through a system that operates on 12 volts. I advised you to use a test light to check these fuses. You can know if a fuse is good by looking at it.
