2006 Ford Fusion thermostat help Sign In

I have a 2006 ford fusion with 130000 miles on it. It's the 2.3L 4 cylinder engine. The cars throwing codes for the coolant thermostat. But instead of overheating the engine cools down at high speeds. I'm just wondering what could cause this and if it is the thermostat that needs to be replaced.

What that code means specifically is that the engine is not reaching sufficient temperature when it's supposed to.

That is usually caused by a weak thermostat either stuck open or opening too soon.
