2006 Nissan Sentra S 1.8L 93,000 miles So recently I got the code p0455, EVAP control system has a leak. I first reset the code, it came back after a day. I replaced the gas cap, the code cleared for a day and then came back. I brought it to a mechanic and he did a smoke test and found no leak anywhere and said the valve was operating properly. It was good and then came back the next day. What could be the problem? The last bit of work that was done on the car was a tune up. Full fuel injection/ induction service w/ ethanol kit and put a new fuel pump in.

There is a leak there somewhere and he's not finding it. It could be a leak somewhere in the system or the tank or one of the valves ( Purge or vent). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
