2007 Chevy Equinox P0121 P0171 P1779 Codes

Recently my Equinox started to randomly display " Stabilitrack Off, Traction Control Off, Service Traction Control, Engine Power Reduced". The car than requires the gas to be pressed fully to the floor in order to reach even 15mph. It regularly goes over 4,000rpm to switch gears. This would occur on and off during the day. I went to Autozone to get the "Check Engine" light codes. The following codes appeared: P0121, P0171, and P1779. The P1779 code can be caused by low or dirty transmission fluid according to Autozone. The car has never had its transmission fluid changed. Any advise on what is causing these problems, or if one of these codes is the main root of the problem and is the causing the other codes? I am going to drain and fill the transmission fluid. 2007 Chevy Equinox LS 155,000 miles

You seem to have 3 different issues going on. The one that is effecting you the most is the Po121 indicating a problem with the electronic throttle control. The P0171 is a lean mixture code and the P1779 is a torque converter code. Check the intake snorkel first the maks sure you have no air leaks of hoses off. After that you are pretty much at the mercy if the dealer or highly capable independent shop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Autozone doesn't know jack about that transmission trouble code. They need to stay out of diagnosing cars. The P1779 code is basically an information code stating the engine control module isn't able to calculate engine air flow properly to calculate torque management. It has nothing at all to do with transmission fluid being dirty. There is no such sensor that monitors the cleanliness of the transmission fluid...LOL. You should do as HT recommends. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

My plan is to check for any vacuum leaks and make any replacements and to clean the throttle body. I will provide an update after I have done this. I will also perform a transmission fluid drain and fill since it has never been done before.
