The speed sensor for the instrument cluster is on the transmission. It is a hall effect sensor that sends a digital square wave signal to the instrument cluster and the body control module for vehicle speed information. The signal from the sensor can also be accessed for diagnosis on PIN 6 of the data link connector. If you were playing around with fuses, check the TCU fuse 10 amp in the I/P junction block. If the fuse is good, your going to have to do some circuit testing using a volt meter and check for signal output using either a graphing multimeter or an oscilloscope. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Tell your mechanic that this vehicle uses the right wheel speed sensor as a vehicle speed input to the PCM. The speed sensor on the transaxle is only used by the BCM and the instrument cluster. You need to check the output of the the hall effect sensor on the transaxle. If he is in the PCM's engine data stream and he is seeing vehicle speed, he isn't checking the right sensor. Tell him to check out the speedometer wiring schematics and he'll understand. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
