More than likely the clutch disc lining is worn out. Your truck uses hydraulics, so if there was a hydraulic issue, you would have spongy pedal or the clutch wouldn't disengage all the way causing it hard to get into gears. The freeplay from clutch lining wear is taken up by the hydraulic system. When the disc is worn out the master cylinder fluid will be low, if it is was never topped off or leaking, and the pedal engagement will be high. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I have contacted the previous owner whom stated to me that the fly wheel was scratched before he bought the truck but, and I know that it was not smart so no need to insult the guy, he has drove the truck for 5 years like it is although he has babied it! I'm a little short on cash so I have no choice but to do likewise in the immediate future but I am saving money to replace the clutch package. Just trying to see if in the meantime the clutch which doesn't seem to release until my foot is almost completely off the pedal can be adjusted or if adjusting the pedal itself can give me any more clutch than I have now. I know some of the older hydraulic clutches can be bled or adjusted but I don't really now about the newer ones. Please help!!!

How can you tell if it needs to be bled? Even though people say it can't be adjusted I do know that when my jeep with a hydraulic clutch messed up and didn't have much pedal at all i bled it and it gave more then 50% of the clutch back

Bleeding is a different thing. If it has air in the system and will have way too much free play at the top. If your clutch is catching at the very top, that's definitely not a bleeding problem. Don't try to bleed it if it doesn't need it because you will likely put air into the system instead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
