2008 Dodge Avenger Jerks During Slowdown Sign In

My 2008 Dodge Avenger started having some issues this past November. When the car slows down during braking, it'll jolt to a stop once it gets around 5 mph. The sensation is like I hit something in front of me, but nothing's there. It happens most often when I first turn the car on and the engine isn't warmed up yet. However, when I brake heavily in those instances, the problem rarely happens. It's only during a natural slowdown, like when there's a red light up ahead and I slowly brake.

I took the car into an Exxon for a diagnosis and they found nothing wrong with it. There are no check engine or check fluid lights on either. Any help that can be given is greatly apprieciated.

It's a 4 cylinder engine. Automatic.
