2013 Subaru Impreza Battery or Alternator Issue Sign In

Year: 2013
Make: Subaru
Model: Impreza
Engine: 2.0
Mileage:~70k

Within the last 6-8 months I had issues with my Subaru starting, AAA came out, tested the battery, deemed it the issue. I replaced the battery through AAA on the spot. I'm again having the same issue, but no longer have AAA.

The car will start with a jump, and continue to drive, I've driven it for 30+ minutes a few times in an attempt to recharge the battery with no luck. What could be causing this? In reading it seems if it was the alternator, I wouldn't be able to continue to drive it. As soon as I shut it off, it will not restart, even after a 30+ minute drive. I read the serpentine belt can also be an issue.

Thoughts? Thanks for the help.

One thing you have to learn about AAA. They push batteries, whether you need one or not. They do not sell alternators so when it goes dead again, they will try to sell you another battery.

There are very simple tests to determine which one has the problem and you don't need an Internet forum for that.

Have the car tested.

? Ditto on that with Hammer. It may not be either the battery or alternator rather the other 100 things that matter. It starts with a jump could be fooling you just added power and voltage if from a running vehicle temporarily overcomes the issue.
Shops aren't all a horror show the tests to really find what needs what you could just ask for the diagnosis and pay for that. I write enough it's faster to go get it checked out in person with that,
