2015 Chevy Traverse 70,000 miles won't start

The car started when I move it in the driveway. I went to restart the car a few minutes later and the starter would not turn the car over. The day before while driving the traction control off light came on as well as the engine light. The engine did not seem to have power for a minute or so. Both lights went out and the car ran fine.

The first step should be to have the battery tested and if the car starts, test the charging system. If they test good, have the stored codes in the computer read but do not disconnect the battery before doing this as that will erase the codes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

About any 2015 model. Right on time for problems IF an original battery. Erratic like just the cranking. Know how old it is and mark it. Hammer said check it, I say know if original it's overdue. As he said don't just disconnect it use memory saving device available to you. Just FYI stuff: look at driver's door jam for date it was made if not clear about battery. It's older than that by about a month when new. Battery itself is marked/embossed can be looked up. Charge any new battery before installing it and know how old that one is before you buy it! 2-3 months is likely to find. Over 6 months pass on that they age and hate sitting around new even, T

Thanks for the replies. It was the battery. I checked the voltage was 9.7 volts. Had the battery tested at the local auto parts, showed it was bad. The replacement was manufactured last month I was surprised to see that. I did put it on the charger before installing it. What really tripped me up was the car started fine a few minutes before starting it a second time. Thanks again for the help.

Ayup! Common for an original if it was or that old? Pay attention to age of the things they are NOT like your other batteries. Famous for saying it's about like a fresh head of lettuce, keep peeling off the icky outer layers till it's just done by time not a thing you can do. Mark them in anything so avoid the surprise - worse some will short be a real headache up to real damage. I'll close this as solved and glad if you are all set now it was just that not worse, T
