Hi everyone
these are the things we have done
new wires, new plugs, new points, checked condenser, selenoid, coil, starter, alternator and we have not checked the compression yet.
and the fuel pump is pumping fuel
she cranks but won't start. my mechanic has given up after trying for about 2 months. I am ordering the original manual once i get her home to try and get her going myself. he doesn't think it is compression but i asked him to at least test it before i towed her home.Frown

What does he do in his real job................... paint houses?

This isn't rocket science. The needs to have fuel, spark and compression. He can't figure out which one is missing?

Compression check would be a good thing to start out with if you have spark and fuel, but no start. 2 months...wow

ya i know, but it has actually been there for 5 months. He just didn't touch it for 2 months. Then he put the carburetor and manifold on it.
It is very frustrating.Unsure
And I have no idea why he hasn't checked the compression already. I am not a mechanic and I have been doing research and found out this needs to be done. I think the old guy might be going senile. But I know he has had other guys look at it and they can't figure it out either. He is supp to be doing the compression check this week before I tow it to the house.
