ok so i just wanted someone to tell me what wires go to what on the starter and where they run to i just want to know the basics to get the thing to turn.

www.samarins.com/glossary/starter.html Rather than write all that stuff again I found it already done at the site above. The basic idea has been the same in electric start engines forever. GM has historically put the solonoid on the starter which is both the solonoid and the action to engage the gear to the flywheel. There are no specific grounding wires as the ground is accomplished by mounting the motor to the block on the engine which is directly grounded to the battery.
