My son's girlfriend was given an 87 chyrsler lebaron turbo convertible that supposedly has a new (6+ years old) transmission in it. According to what we've been told it only needs a new battery and a starter and it will crank right up. I'm skeptical because it's been sitting for over 6 years. She doesn't have a lot of money and none of us have a lot of experience working on cars. My son has been learning some working on the junkers that he's bought for himself. Is this car worth keeping and trying to run or is it more trouble than it's worth?

A 21 year old, non-intercooled turbo, history of trans probs car that has been sitting for 6 years..... That say alot right there....... The price is right.... 1st thing you need to determine is how much $$$$$ you are willing to put into this car... being a turbo I'm guessing it's close to being worn out if not already.... Turbo, superchargers, NOX are all fun but take a toll on the drivetrain...There is a price to be paid.... speed is not free Bottom line..... anything more than a starter, battery, brks & oil change & I'd off it........
