Hey, My daughter has a 93 Honda Civic DX and the driver doorlock will not close all the way and lock. It is a manual door lock, not automatic. How do I fix it? Do I have to replace the whole inside door, or what? HELP!!!

that system uses rods attached to an actuator if you take the door panel off you can follow the rod from the door lock down to the actuator and remove it there then where the rod hooks up at you can try to move that mechanism if you are able to move it in both directions the actuator is good and the rod is bent beyond what the normal bends in the rod are you will need to replace it

General prevention: Use WD-40 on all latches, locks and hinges around a car. The spray grease lasts longer on door hinges but you don't really want it where you might get it on youself or getting in or out. Locks behave better with with a quick shot of WD-40 and will prevent them from icing up. I'm not paid by that company but the stuff works, T

Thanks Tom Buying a car for my teenager daughter was hard enough! I thought I had checked everything, but just assumed the doors would lock.. live and learn. Thanks for the input.. not always easy doing it on your own. Michelle
