94 toyota 22re bucking and stalling

94 toyota 22re bucking and stalling

Got a little problem. 94 toyota p/up 22re 5spd OB1 computer. Recent IAC(idle air control)service on the throttle body, new fuel filter, tuneup blah, blah. Starts and idles good cold. Bucks and stalls cold when i take off driving down the street with speedometer jumping around. Leave the neighborhood driving at 35mph, starts bucking, speedo jumping around from 35 as high as 70mph. Pull over and restart and drive. Repeats bucking and stalling with speedometer jumping around until it warms a little. Ok when warmed up. Might buck a little sometimes with speedo jumping around warm. Ran and idled fine after the mentioned in line 1. Now i have this problem. it just started acting up last week. Lets hear the suggestions.

Start off by verifying that the battery, alternator, and related wiring is in good condition. Make sure battery cable connections are clean and tight. Verify grounds are in good condition, clean and tight.

Mastertech was the factory scan tool. If your really into fixing older Toyota, that was the tool of choice. You might be able to find it on Ebay, but your looking at thousands of dollars. Another thing is that a scan tool is worthless to someone that doesn't have an understanding of electronic fuel injection and/or the ability to decipher what the scan tool information is displaying.
The best thing for you is to jump TE1 to E1 in the diagnostic connector under the hood. When you turn the ignition on the check engine light will flash any stored trouble codes.
