96 Chevy Coolant Leak

Hello all! Recently I have been having a major coolant leak in my car. Its a 96 Chevy Lumina(go figure) and when the car sits in idle for a while or after driving for a good while and it has built up pressure, a massive amount of coolant dumps out the far drive side hole on the pan that sits beneath the radiator. It didn't start doing this until I fixed the water pump and only if it sits idle for a while after reaching full pressure. I replaced the upper hose since it seemed to be smoking from the end that connects to the radiator, but it still does. I've also quit running the AC or heat to see if it helps and it seems to have stopped it for now from what I've noticed, but I can't go around in this heat without AC and want to know what might be the problem.

You probably overheated it severely with your initial water pump problem causing some internal damage like a blown head gasket. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
