Hello fellow knuckle-busters. I have a 96 Ram w/120k, 5.9L.MFI. The truck ran fine then began loosing power and stalled. Upon restart attempts it acts as if it was not getting fuel, continued cranking and pressed on the gas pedal it will start eventually very poorly. If you apply more gas pedal it will run very rough and stall, then takes a long time to restart. If you get it started and let it idle it will stay running for quite a while till you try and press the pedal, it stalls as if it is out of fuel. I changed the fuel pump to no avail. I can not find a fuel filter anywhere. This is the motor with 8 injectors and just an air intake on the top of plentum. I also changed the pump relay, first. Hope someone has had a similar problem and got er done! Any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks, John.

Is the check engine light coming on at all? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Yes, the check eng. lite was on and is now off. But the lite has come on and off for about a year, but I guess there could still be stored codes. Also when the engine does run it really sounds like it is taking in a LOT of air through the intake. Thanks for replying..

You can't just ignore those lights. Get the codes read before doing anything else.
