On my '96 Eagle Vision ESI, the rack & pinion moves around when it's supposed to remain in a fixed position. Is that repairable by replacing only the bushings or does the whole thing need to be replaced? Thanks.

if the whole thing is moving just replace the rack bushings if parts are moving inside the rack ie the inner tie rods or outer tie rods just replace those

thought i'd follow up.... took it to the shop and got an estimate of $1,400 to replace the rack as well as 4 of the engine cradle mounts and a powersteering hose. i decided to not do the repairs since i don't really need that car to get around. thanks.

Why would you need all mounts? The rack and PS hose I can understand and that price seems a little high but if all are needed it would add up, T
