96 Olds Ciera stalls

I have a 96 Olds Ciera that stalls, usually after running about 15 miles. The car is the 3.1 engine, is somewhat low mileage 69,000 miles. The computer had to be replaced at about 40,000 miles. Problem started about a month ago. It is not consistent with any certain speed. The only thing consistent is that the car has to be running about 20 minutes or more. Sometimes days will go by and no problems. The car doesn't shake or sputter, just quietly stops. Originally I replaced the fuel filter, didn't improve at thing. Took to a garage, they ran it for about 3-4 days before "finding the problem", and they replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor, the Fuel Regulator Valve, and the Crankshaft Sensor. Guess what, I'm $310 poorer, and the car still dies. One other thing, when it dies, I don't have to let it cool down, it will re-start immediately. Any ideas? It's a very smooth running car otherwise. Thanks, defordwi@aol.com

I had a 95 ciera with 3.1 with intermitant stall. Had to drive a couple days with fuel pressure gauge hooked up but turned out the fuel pump was cutting out intermitanly causing it to stall. Also check the TCC, unplug from trans and take for test drive. If tcc checks good look at the wiring harness thats on the passenger side and goes down along side of p/s line. I have seen the p/s line rubb the harness and short the wires out everytime the car was shifted causing the engine to move. If i think of anything else i will post back ..hope this heps....mike

Just a thought. If you have disconnected the battery the car may take a while relearn in its computer. Just had one of those once in an older car about like yours. T
