I baught a 97 Acura TL last week, and there are a few problems. #1: when in gear, if i hold the pedal at a cirtain spot, it makes a squeeling sound that sounds like a belt, but i checked the belts and they are fine. any idea of what this could be? It only squeels when the pedal is about 1/3 of the way down. #2: when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, i hear a "thump" sound. Its an automatic transmission by the way. #3 when i rev the engine over about 4000 rpms (in gear), it seems to accelerate much slower than the lower rpms. could adjusting/checking the sparkplugs fix this? #4 the fan keeps running a good 5 mins after i turn the car off. It doesnt over heat or get hotter than it should, im just not sure why the fan keeps running that long. 1997 Acura TL 3.2L v6 118000

1) try putting some belt dressing to see if that stops the squealing temporarily. just because the belt might look ok, doesnt mean it cant be over stretched. if the noise stops replace the belt. 2)when was the last time the transmission was serviced? try a filter and fluid change 3)this all depends on the torque/hp curve of your engine, you your engine has a low end torque curve, your going to feel the seat of the pants acceleration on take off and low rpm. if you have no record of the last tune up, it def wouldnt hurt. 4) im not to sure on this one, i dont believe the fans should be getting power with the ignition off. check your fan relays __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Me and my dad changed the transmission filter and fluid a few days ago. It didnt make any difference in the 1st-2nd shifting 'thump'. I just want to fix this problems to avoid it getting worst. Some metal bar in my saturn sc2 broke in the transmission, a gear came off the bar and got caught between another gear and the bottom of the transmission and it blew the whole bottom out of it. That was no fun, and why i had to buy a new car =(

And yet after all that Saturn bull, you went out and bought another heap. Do you not learn from your mistakes? Honestly.
