i have a 97 gmc jimmy slt and i've been having problems getting it to start especially when its cold outside, it will turn over a few times then the battery dies, i took the battery in to get tested (it was fine , just needed to be recharged) so i put the battery back in after getting it charged and the same thing is happening...any ideas?

It is possible the battery needs to be upsized to a higher cold cranking amp capacity. Other than that the starter may be drawing too much, the cables may be faulty, or it is so cold out the oil may be too thick causing the engine to have a hard time turning over. An engine block heater would be the cure for the latter but shouldn't be necessary unless you live in an extremely cold climate. Steve
